Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Oh, another fool babbling about the future. What does it say?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
After a moment of silence, she begins reading. "Readers of this prophecy take heed, for the text below speaks of the ultimate destruction of the Earth..
"Millenia after the Great War, a child will be born. This child is born of two races that have long resented each other, yet taken no heed to the others' presence. "At a young age, the child will begin to experience phenomena uncommon to her believed race. This strange new power will blossom as she grows older, and will ultimately cause the destruction of her loved ones." She pauses a moment to ponder before continuing. "It is the duty and purpose of this child to eliminate all evil on this planet, and upon the arrival of her death shall the Earth be terminated. "This is the prophecy of Neerkohm the Oracle. Fear not death, for it is the destiny of us all." She looks up, having finished reading. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale thinks for a moment, leaning on a bookshelf. "Intresting, yet I fail to see how it is diffrent from any other prophecy."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"It isn't, not really.. Oracles have prophesized for years that one child would eventually destroy the world." She reads through it again. "It is curious, however... Most prophecies refer to the child as a male."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Bah. It matters not. The world will end, sure enough." A smirk forms on Gale's lips, but it fades quickly. He is unsure if he should state his plans at the moment.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena looks at Gale, somewhat amused. "Do you mean to say that you plan to destroy the world, Gale Onarav? I would not doubt the words of an Oracle, no matter how old the text may be... Are you of two races?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"No, I am not. However, I only need three things to do so.." Gale goes silent. He had spoke of his plans before, but not infront of his brother, or Laena.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena laughs softly. "Your plan may be clever, but it is not fool-proof.. You are still far too weak.."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale, who had allowed Laena to say what she pleased before, grew angry after her last comment. "Silence! I will not be criticized by you."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena frowns slightly. "Are you afraid of the truth, Gale Onarav?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena has tested all of Gale's patience. "I told you, silence! I am NOT weak."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Her expression is unmoving. "If that is so, then why are you growing angry?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I'm warning you now, Siren. Learn to watch your tounge."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She takes a step closer, staring into his eyes. "Why are you warning me..? Are you afraid to strike me..?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale scoffs, and takes the book, placing it back in a shelf.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She frowns again. "I would not have thought of you to be one that would refrain from hitting a woman.. It seems that you are plenty willing to strike down the human girl."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Do you like pointing out the obvious?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She laughs. "I have learned that telling the truth often is more beneficial than hiding in the shadows. You, however, have not learned this."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale would of struck Laena this time, but his original anger had faded. "Do you not understand what silence means?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"I am a Siren. My survival depends entirely on the power of my voice."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Despite how much you like me, you don't seem to have much sympathy for me."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"That is not true, Gale Onarav..." She steps closer, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I am only trying to help you... You cannot destroy this earth if you have sympathy for at least one creature, can you?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
This Siren had a way of actually making him think about his plans, more specifacly, weither or not to do them. Something he hated. "....I won't change my plans. Do remember that."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One gets tired of hearing the same thing over and over. He interrupts them. "I'm gonna go take a walk." With that said, One turns around and exits the library. He then exits the castle itself and begans to walk a bit off, surveying the area around it.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Hmph. Air would be a good idea." Gale starts to walk out of the library, without another word to Laena.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She watches the both of them leave, and makes no movement to follow. She sighs slightly and returns to the book.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Gale steps out the front gate of his castle. He takes a deep breath of cold air. "It gets so cold so quickly..."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Almost simulataneously, a line of yellow flashes and puffs of smoke erupt along the treeline, each accompanied by a sharp crack!, which collectively sounds something like a drumroll being shot through a loudspeaker.
With almost no delay after the sound, a hail of invisible metal smashes into the castle's front gate in a single, devastating wave. |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"SHI-" Gale has not time to finish the curse before a bullet tears into his chest and knocks him against wall. "****...not again..."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One's eyes widen as the scene unfolds before him. "GALE!" One spins around looking through the trees, desperately trying to find the source.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Laena's eyes wander to the window, and she sees One yelling. She stands and looks down, right below her is Gale. "Hmm.. I wonder how he'll conduct himself in this situation.." She turns and walks outside.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
On cue, a line of men dressed in night-black fatigues, gloves, and reflective masks step out of the woods in the unison. Each holds a distinctly recognizable assault rifle at the shoulder, trained on Gale. After taking a few steps clear of the treeline, they stop, plant their feet, and fix their weapons' aim on Gale. But they don't shoot.
A deep, older voice reaches out from behind the line, one of almost militaristic discipline that commanded attention. To Gale, however, it's a familiar voice that's long since become annoying. "It's good to see you again, Gale." |
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Nyx, I should of killed you back in (Myria? if not the past). How's your arm? Oh yes, I cut it off." Gale manages to smile.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
One sees the group of men, which seemed to have just ignored him. He figures it'd be dumb to take them on on his own. He sneaks into the castle to summon Laena's help.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
She turns to One as he enters. "You want my assistance, One Avalon?" She shrugs lightly, then walks towards him, staff in hand. "What would you like for me to do?"
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Oh yes, that was nice of you, but it was nothing I couldn't remedy." Nyx's left hand rises above the men's heads and flexes, gloved and sleeved in clothing similiar to that of the soldiers. The center of their line splits and Nyx walks forward, a long silver revolver in his right hand.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Daddy build you a new one? Or did you do it yourself?" Sin silently appears on the ground and rotates so the blade aims at Nyx.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Just distract them. I'll get Gale out of there."
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
"Very well.." She walks outside, towards Nyx and Gale. She opens her mouth and starts singing a haunting and paralyzing tune.
Re: Gale's Castle (Part 2)
Nyx merely glances at Laena and smirks. His men, however, tense up and their aim begins to waver. "I didn't know you were interested in her kind, Gale. A Siren? You've become more and more pathetic each day it seems." With his thumb, Nyx draws back the hammer on his gun. "You really complicate things. Do me a favor and die this time around."
